Council Creech Jr.

President, Local 572 Transport Workers Union

Since joining Transport Workers Union 572 over 20 years ago, Council Creech has been a committed and dedicated member.  His strong leadership abilities enabled him to advance from a mechanic to environmental coordinator and maintenance coordinator to crew chief.  Council earned his Associates of Arts degree from Wayne County Community College and received his Airframe and Power Plant licenses from Benjamin Davis Aeronautical.

Council began his career with Simmons Airlines (a subsidiary of Northwest Airlines) in 1986 working out of Detroit Metropolitan Airport. In 1989 AMR/American Airlines purchased Simmons Airlines.  After the buy-out, he transferred to Chicago working for American Eagle Airlines which is a wholly owned subsidiary of AMR/American Airlines.

Council has held various union positions thru out his career at American Eagle Airlines ranging from: shop steward; union safety advisor; city section vice-chairperson; to vice president; to his current position as Local President. As a product of a father who worked in Detroit’s’ Auto Industry, Council has a strong union background and that union pride has helped shaped who he is today.
